Are you making it too hard to be happy? NO WAY! Not me! But maybe?
The other day I was grocery shopping when I heard someone tell their son to put the tea packets he was holding back on the shelf because IT’S NOT TEA DRINKING WEATHER! No judgement- only relatability because YES! We all have these beliefs, rules, and parameters we don’t even realize we have. Until one day when someone tries to buy tea out of season and we get hot and bothered over it! Right!? This woman is all of us!
I really DO believe we can create exactly the life we want, but when we start putting the exact parameters on it and control the exact way we want a goal to look – that’s where so much of the stress and the panic and the white knuckling in life comes out to play.
What if we loosen our grip? What if we focus on the ultimate goal or feeling or intention? Because sometimes we get lost in our goal and fixate on the structure and assigning meaning to all the things and we lose sight of why we even made the goal in the first place.
Let’s break it down to make this work for YOU! Here are three questions to help you examine this idea of putting limits on your happiness.
1.What parameters are you putting on your happiness? (replace happiness with anything, goal/falling in love/having fun etc)
What would have to happen for you to feel successful in this goal, or like you achieved it? THOSE are your parameters!
2.Which of those parameters can you LET GO?
Are there any of them that don’t serve you? That really aren’t authentic or true for you? Maybe some that have been given to you from other people?
3.Yeah, but what was my ULTIMATE GOAL?
What did this start as? Maybe right now it feels like finding someone to marry, but maybe it started as wanting connection in your life. Yes? Peel down deeper to what the goal means, and if you go there you will set yourself up for happiness and success so much more as you are able to really see the thing you ACTUALLY want to be working toward.
We’re hoping to help you uncover some imaginary walls, as well as giving you the tools to take them down! Limits be gone! We hope you listen, learn, and feel awesome!

“…When a lot of things start going wrong all at once, it is to protect something big and lovely that is trying to get itself born-and that this something needs for you to be distracted so that it can be born as perfectly as possible.”
