Does “Do your best!” automatically stress you out? Do you feel overwhelmed and exhausted when you hear that? OR do you feel guilt like you should be pushing harder? Either way we’re going to help you see how your “best” won’t and can’t come from either of these places! We are doing a read along of Don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements—and the fourth one is: Do Your Best! But we’re breaking down how there’s no stress or shame required! And how truly doing your best will help you become a master of transformation! We have loved doing the read along with you and know this final installment will be the cherry on top!
Here are my 5 favorite ways to DO MY BEST!
Your best looks different every day—don’t judge it
Your best will even look different from morning to night and minute to minute. It’s ok!
Don’t focus on the reward focus on the process
When I stay present in the process of what I’m doing rather than requiring a certain result, I find I am more able to really do my TRUE best!
Trying to do more than your best will always lead to an inefficient use of energy and waste your time
When you are constantly trying to control a situation, even if it’s in an effort to do your best, you end up spending SO much time and energy that can be saved!
What can I do right now to help me show up for what I need to do next?
When I allow myself to do what will actually help me in the moment it allows me to keep showing up consistently as my best!
Make everything a ritual. Use everyday activities rituals instead of a to do.
Turning mundane daily tasks into mindfulness rituals will make us more present, and when we are more present we do our best effortlessly!
We give more examples and applications of each of these in the episode so I hope you will go listen! And hey! You are doing a really good job!
