One thing, among many, that I love about cupcakes, is that they are so easy to dress up. I have been LOVING this book: Trophy Cupcakes and Parties! and the AMAZING cupcake recipes in it!
For these cupcakes I did a banana cake, with a Peanut Butter buttercream frosting. I MEAN, COME ON. They are SO good. It’s actually hard to find really good cupcake recipes from scratch, and I just cannot recommend this book enough!
I topped these lil guys with some cheap heart suckers I got at Wal-Greens, and paired them with some of my fun Love Notes from my 12 Months of Martha box, and used these as a neighbor treat. Mostly I bake because I like decorating things, then I have to quickly pawn the goods off on neighbors before we eat all the treats. I’m usually pretty good about not eating what I bake, but I shoved two of these babies in my face so fast I hardly remember it happening. It’s that peanut butter frosting! It KILLS ME.
Anyway, just thought I’d share this ridiculously easy idea, in case you need some love day treats! But be sure to also check out my, heart-shaped donuts, heart-shaped cinnamon sugar pretzels, my no-bake pots de creme recipe or any of my other Valentine’s projects if you need a goody!
