Gotta’ get it for the gram!

Last week I had the absolute pleasure of helping throw a baby shower for my dear friend Tara. Tara had a hard time getting pregnant, and she’s basically everyone’s favorite human, so we were all excited to shower her with some love and it made throwing the bash even MORE fun. I had been giddy about the party for weeks and now that it’s over I might be going through party-planning withdrawals.

Also I didn’t get to help with her bridal shower because I was giving birth to Ginger, so I was SUPER stoked to take the lead. My friend Kimmy helped me, and hosted it at her house. Kimmy is totally the best, like at everything. She’s classy, talented, crafty and loves parties as much as I do. Kimmy also used to work for the top wedding stylist in New York, so needless to say we had a great time together.

This is the gorgeous Tara at 30 weeks pregnant! There is a tiny bump under that shirt.

Tara is having a boy. So for some reason I wanted to do a bear theme. We kept everything white with some pops of bluish greens. We ordered honeycombs from Devra Party Corp. And turned them into bears by adding some noses and ears that I made. I was kind of proud of myself for that brilliant idea!

Here is Kimmy showing off our handy work. Don’t you love her shirt?!

Kimmy and I made the white geometric shape garlands by chain-sewing paper. It was very easy to do, inexpensive, and didn’t take too much time. I used the same little bear face that I made for the invitation to create some circles that I sewed together too. Also that little bear head in the plant is the invite.

Another fun thing I did (or at least I thought it as fun) was get baby pictures of Tara and her hubby. Then I had them blown up and put on blueprint paper. You can get this done at Office Max or Staples, and it usually costs like $4-6 a poster. Then we gave them to Tara after the party. To use or not use as nursery decor.

And now for my favorite part! The dessert table. I plan on sharing more details about the individual desserts later this week!

And the food was beyond yummy too.

Making signs for everything is actually really easy, like the little ones for the cheese and “Cucumber Limeaid” one, and I think it makes things look fancy. Right?! My biggest tip there would be to buy a circle punch, mine is 2″, and then when you make your signs make everything 2″ so you don’t have to cut circles.

Ok! That’s all for now. Like I said I’m gonna share recipes, but if you see something else you have questions about, please let me know! You know I LOVE to blab on and on about this stuff!

Your blog gives more eye candy than a bubble gum machine–

But how do you make cucumber limemade? I’m super intrigued. Does it only require limemade with cucumber slices or is there something else involved? Looks AMAZING.

I think our Summer may be over ready, here in Old Blighty. Tara looks blooming and your party skills are fabulous! I don’t have children, but I would be delighted to have a party myself with the decor and yummy food you’ve mad! I’m looking forward to the recipes. I agree cucumber limeade sounds delicious.
