Handmade Gift Guide: Gifts for Little People

I’m actually a REALLY last-minute-gift-giving type of person. I think about gifts for a long time, and think I have all the time in the world. And then BOOM! Christmas is 4 days away and I have a list of 15+ gifts I plan on making. I’m not going to make any crazy pledges to be better this year. But in case you people are more on top of it, I thought I’d show you some awesome DIY’s and tutorials I’ve seen that would make great gifts! This is the kids, or little people edition.

1. DIY Stick Horses from A Beautiful Mess // 2. Kitchenette from a Dresser from A Beautiful Mess // 3. DIY Nesting Dolls by Penelope and Pip for Say Yes to Hoboken // 4. Tea Box Circus Train from Mer Mag // 5. Wool Alphabet from Oh Happy Day // 6. Giant Foam Letters from Oh Happy Day // 7. The Nutcracker Bowling League from A Hip Handmade Holiday // 8. The Tiny T from The Alison Show

I really want to make a giant “G” for Ginger and some of those nesting dolls! How fun would those be? I think Ginger would love them. Do you guys have any other fun DIYs for kids gifts? I’m going to be doing some Handmade Gift Guides for other folks too this week! So stay tuned!

And to see some fun goodies/clothes you can BUY for those tiny terrorists, you can check out my Little People Pin Board.

Love you all!

  1. I want to make MYSELF those giant letters! How fun!

    1. Me too! Spell out my whole name!! haha

  2. I’m loving that tiny t Alison! (Thanks for the link love too).

    1. You are so welcome! ALL of your stuff is amazing!

  3. Ooooh I love the kitchen, that’s beautiful.

I’ve made homemade playdough for the kids in my family this year, but that’s not as imaginative or creative as the things you’ve found there.

    1. I think that sounds so fun though! My nieces would love that! And I can see that being a fun gift to give to Gigi’s friends! Do you have a recipe you like?

  4. It was pretty fun to make (and I might have played with it a little bit myself!). I have got a recipe yeah, the basic one is really simple and then I just stuck gel colouring and flavourings in, for a nice scent. I don’t like the basic playdough smell.

It’s 2 tbsp Cream of Tartar, All Purpose Flour (300g), Salt (250g), 2 tbsp Oil, and 1l Water. I’m sorry, I don’t know the equivalent in Imperial!

Then you mix the dry ingredients together, add the wet ingredients and your colours and flavourings and then mix constantly over a medium heat until it comes together. Then let it cool a little and knead.

Mine worked pretty well I think, although the blue I made has a few lumps in it. I think that’s because I left it sat too long whilst I had my dinner! I have some pictures and things on my blog too.
