Today! My dear friends, is the day. The day of all days. My birthday.
And so, how should we celebrate this joyous day via SheBlogs SheBlogs?
I thought long and hard, and then decided to be predictable. Let us celebrate with love!
On Saturday I was a very lucky girl. My sister and a few girlfriends took me to lunch. Not only did these beautiful ladies drive through Cougar traffic to dine with me, they all came looking sexy and offering gifts. Gifts! For me! Their generosity was overwhelming. Going to lunch with a group of girlfriends is possibly one of the best things in the world to a frumpy old married lady who sometimes forgets she has friends that are not her husband.
After lunch we went to a dollar movie. We saw The House Bunny. And judge me all you want, but that movie is HYSTERICAL. It was my second time seeing it.
Anyway after the movie, and hugs goodbye, I got in my little car to drive back up to Salt Lake City. And as I was merging onto the freeway, I started thinking about how lucky I was, and I started crying.
I don’t tell you this to prove to you that people like me, or that I do have friends. I tell you this because I want you to know how thankful I am for each one of you. With each passing year, and with my small basket of life experiences, life seems to be more and more to be about one thing, and one thing only. People. Life is people.
I’m so thankful for all the people in my life, my husband, my family, my friends, the people who read my blog. I’m so full of love for everybody today, that I pretty much don’t know what to do, and so I’ll post it here.
Whether you know me well, or don’t know me personally at all, thank you so much for reading my blog. I love you. My one goal with my blog is to share at least a little bit of the love I feel so blessed to have. I hope I’ve done this for you once or twice.
So I don’t care if this was cheesy, schmaltzy, or trite. It’s my birthday, and I’ll cry if I want to.
I LOVE YOU ALL.
AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU.
