Awesome with Alison Ep. 3: Are you having enough fun?! w/ special guest Susan Petersen!
January 17, 2017 Alison Faulkner

Is having fun THAT important? Yes, yes it is! Why? Because people who have fun are more likely to be happy. “And happy people just don’t shoot their husbands, they just don’t!” – Elle Woods, Legally Blonde

I share that quote a lot, and I know it seems like just a joke, but I know for me personally, when I try to balance life’s seriousness (I write this sitting in a hospital room as a visitor) with some FUN STUFF, it’s just easier to take, and I’m nicer to be around. Eric likes me a lot more and probably sleeps sounder knowing I’m letting loose a little.

Now don’t get me wrong. I think there can be the misconception that life can be or should be all fun all the time. I know this podcast is called Awesome with Alison, but it’s not called, “Feel awesome every minute of every day.” I don’t expect that for myself nor would I want it. Without trials and work I wouldn’t grow, have empathy, or accomplish all the things I want to accomplish. But with that said, I think in our adult lives we can start to prioritize everything BUT fun, and that is, like NO fun.

So I grabbed one of my most FUN friends, Susan Petersen of Freshly Picked and we shared some of our MOST fun memories. Then we helped each other uncover what those memories say about what we really consider fun, and how that can help us to have more of a good time in the future!

I hope that by listening you’ll 1. Have fun with us and 2. Be inspired to create more fun of your own and be reminded of what things YOU find truly, truly fun. The kind of fun that revives, rejuvenates and inspires you. Whole-hearted, stress-relieving fun.

So here’s the episode if you want to listen on my site!

Or hop on over and listen and subscribe in iTunes!

Again I want to thank you SO much to those of you who have left reviews and ratings, shared the podcast, and sent words of encouragement. It means so much that people are listening! Hah! I appreciate it so much and I’m wishing you so much love!
