Remember how I said I couldn’t decide how to decorate this cake?

Well this was maybe cake #3 of 5. Haha. And it was SO easy to do! I came up with a fun little trick to make the butterflies look like they were floating!

These gorgeous butterfly stickers were part of my package for the 12 Months of Martha challenge (I’m sent a box of supplies every other month and challenged to see what I come up with!)

Before placing them on the cake I just gave them a slight fold, I didn’t worry about removing the foam adhesive or the fact that they were not edible, because, I mean, this isn’t Cake Boss.

I thought the cake looked pretty just like that, but I also thought it would be fun for the butterflies to FLY! For the cake topper I rummaged through my kitchen until I found a clear plastic lid! A water bottle, or an old package would work, but I, of course, had these little baby food lids in abundance.

I just trimmed them into a quarter inch strip, then stuck the butterfly sticker to the lid! You could do as few…

Or as many as you like.

If you have a butterfly lover in your life, go ahead and make their day!

I have two more versions of this cake! Haha so just, brace yourself.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. To see ALL of my 12 Months of Martha ideas, go here!
