Belated Holiday Magic

I’m not as on top of it as those OTHER bloggers you may know and love. I don’t quite finish things in time to post them on the blog BEFORE Christmas but I wanted to share some of the fun things I made for loved ones, as well as for myself! Muhaha!

Above is the advent calendar I made for my brother and his wife! I made it very similar to mine, but I changed up a few ornaments and I used more colors of felt. I actually like theirs better! Ha, but here’s mine if you want to check it out.

I made my mom the Mr. & Mrs. Ho Ho Ho pillows from my book, and we found Gigi a vintage bike for $10! She’s a little too small to really use it but I think she’ll be ready to rock by the time the snow clears.

Here are some paper mache ornaments I made for myself. I wanted some more handmade touches for my tree. I really wanted to share tutorials for these, but I just didn’t get my act together. I’ll try to remember to share them next year. Remind me, K?

These guys are just an old tree, some polymer clay and a tiny little pom pom. I made them with Heather while we scarfed treats and complained about holiday weight gain.

And here’s one of my favorite pictures from Christmas.

My baby and my man on the beach. I’ve been so obsessed with my little lady lately. I love that she can have conversations with me, I love her opinions and ideas. She’s so brilliant and beautiful. Eric and I are constantly asking, “Do other parents love their kids THIS much?!” We loved watching her get excited to open presents and learning how to say, “Merry Christmas.” We also laugh hourly in amazement and shock at how sassy and bold she is. Her baby brother is in for a world of trouble.

I guess the next thing to look forward to is Alt Summit! I’ll be teaching a class and I’d love to see you there, in all of my pregnant glory. I know the tickets disappeared faster than a gallon of Diet Coke at a Mormon girl’s night…but did you get one?! Come hang out with me!

Ok, stay tuned for more fun. Here’s to a fabulous 2013!

xo,
Alison

Love everything about this post… most importantly gigi’s expression of elation by the bike. So cute! Loved seeing you guys this Christmas.

  2. ok soooo i’ve had the advent calendar on my to-do list for a while and was just planning on creating my own version based on the picture but if you have any tips/tricks/suggestions on making the process easier since you’ve clearly perfected the process please feel free to share :)
