I have lots of ideas. I have so many ideas that I have a hard time sleeping at night. But not all of these ideas work out. In fact there are countless failed or half-baked projects that you never see. I don’t blog them or instagram them, mostly because I’m too irate at the time, or consoling myself in the corner with a baked good.
And then there are ideas, completely original ideas THAT WORK! And I think, “Oh my gosh, I’m a genius.” And I’m going to claim genius on these cupcakes. As soon as I saw the little hatchet cupcake toppers from Bake it Pretty, I knew what had to be done. I’ve made candy coating a few times, and I thought just maybe, if the stars aligned, I’d be able to get it to look just how I wanted and top the cupcakes with tiny pools of blood.
Sick and twisted? Perhaps. But after all, it’s Halloween! The full tutorial is over at One Charming Party. I named them, “So I Married an Ax Murderer Cupcakes.”
I hope other people are as excited about them as I am! Making candy coating is actually really simple. I promise! You don’t even really have to have a candy thermometer for these. All the instructions are with the tutorial.
Good luck and happy haunting!
