Has anyone else noticed that Netflix’s instant-stream movie selection just SKYROCKETED with awesomeness?! Just me? Um, well. It has! They recently added a whole bunch of SNL movies, and one of my all-time favorites is Molly Shannon’s SUPERSTAR. And you know you have to lunge when you say it. Eric and I watched Superstar the other night, and admists fits of Beavis-and-Butthead-like laughter, I kept thinking “OOOH, I want that.” Superstar was filmed in the late 90′s, and if you’ll recall, The Dream of the 90′s is Alive in Fashion. So here you go: 90′s in Fashion: SUPERSTAR Edition.
And here’s how you can incorporate more Superstar into your life!
Bolo Tie: Freshly-Picked $35 // Knee Highs: American Apparel $13 // Square Leather Backpack: Grafea England $270 // Cat Eye Glasses: Moral Eyes $20 // Leather Headband: American Apparel $20 // Basque Waist Shirtdress: Anthropologie $248
I think the thing I’m the most obsessed with is the square leather backpack. Or any square backpack for that matter. There are so many good ones in the movie too. In fact, stay tuned for a square backpack sewing tutorial coming your way! Because I totally can’t afford the one I posted. I also really love the basque waist on Molly Shannon’s PE uniform. A basque waist is that kind that is drops and comes to a point. The shirt dress isn’t a true basque waist, but it suggests one, and I think it’s real sexy.
Well I hope you enjoy all of this 90′s fashion as much as I do! More 90′s here!

I’m a fan of the knee high tights. Oh please, can we get those to come back? & the Mary Janes.
(I like the square back packs too. But I don’t care for the mini back packs. Hope those never come back.)
In the late 90s, I had about a billion floral button-up maxi skirts (a la http://images.asos.com/inv/y/7/31/1176677/floral/image1xl.jpg), which I hope to see make a raging come back! And what about palazzo pants (in billowing floral, naturally)?
