Ruffle Celebration Cake

Ruffle Celebration Cake
February 21, 2012 Alison Faulkner

Over the weekend I made a cake that seriously BLEW MY MIND. I have known for a while now that you can trust Sweetapolita with your first born child when it comes to all things sweet. But this cake was honestly too good to be true. This is the recipe I used.

The chocolate cake on the inside is RICH and dense and fabulous. By far the best chocolate cake recipe I’ve ever made. And it’s simple! And the frosting. OH THE FROSTING. Let’s just say I used more sticks of butter than you can count on two hands…WORTH IT.

For more pictures of my sister’s ADORABLE birthday party (for my niece who turned 1!) and my cake, go here!

I really hope to be seeing some of you at the blogger’s meet up tomorrow night. I’m thinking I’m going to wear my longhorn pants. What do you think? For more info go here!

I wish I had more cake,

Chocolate cake with white buttercream frosting is my favorite thing in this world. Just in case you were wondering.

This might sound random, but did you do decaf coffee in the cake? I might want to borrow this idea for my little girl’s first birthday, but I’m nervous about the caffeine!
